Lenoir Rhyne’s Atkins, Wingate’s Paul Tabbed SAC Softball Weekly Award Winners
ROCK HILL, S.C. - For the second time this season for both players, Lenoir-Rhyne's Sarah Atkins and Wingate's Miranda Paul have been named SAC Player of the Week and SAC Pitcher of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Atkins finished out the week going six-for-nine in four games, including a perfect four-for-four in two games against Brevard. The senior's highlight came during the second game of a double-header versus the Tornados as she ripped a home run to lead Lenoir-Rhyne to a 4-3 victory in 11 innings. Atkins now leads the team in home runs with 10.

Paul was the workhorse for Wingate this week, as the freshman totaled four complete games, earning the win in each start. Two of her victories came over Tusculum, which entered last week atop the conference standings. In 28 innings, Paul struck out 12 batters and walked just one, finishing with a 2.50 ERA on the week.
The Virginia Beach, Va. native has earned 21 wins this season and holds a 2.65 ERA.
