Anderson’s Neidigh, L-R’s Millwood Named SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week
ROCK HILL, SC - With the 2012 Food Lion SAC Softball Championship just days away, Anderson's Jessica Neidigh has been named SAC Softball Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Dawon Millwood was tabbed SAC Pitcher of the Week for games on March 9-15, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.
Neidigh was a key contributor to Anderson's three wins on the week, adding on to the school-record 35 wins the Trojans have posted this season. The freshman concluded the week going 13-for-25, adding three doubles, a triple and two home runs. In her first year on campus, Neidigh closed the regular season leading the conference with a .463 batting average.
The Lawrenceville, Ga., native also added a victory in the circle for Anderson, tossing a complete game against Erskine College en route to a 7-5 non-conference win.

Millwood, named SAC Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season, ended the regular season on a high note, tossing two no-hitters and leading Lenoir-Rhyne to its third-straight SAC regular season title. In game one of a doubleheader against Tusculum, Millwood tossed a seven-inning no-hitter, striking out three.
Later that evening, the senior gave up just five hits and three runs to propel the Bears to a 4-3 10-inning victory over TC.
On the final day of the season against Lincoln Memorial, Millwood threw her second no-hitter of the week, striking out five Railsplitters. The Hixson, Tenn., native is now 28-6 on the season, and will lead the top-seeded Bears into the SAC Championship on April 19.
