Anderson’s Child, Brevard’s Hrobak Named SAC Softball Players of the Week
Anderson infielder Abby Child and Brevard pitcher Jamie Hrobak have been selected as the SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson infielder Abby Child and Brevard pitcher Jamie Hrobak have been selected as the SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Child helped Anderson remain unbeaten on the season by hitting .615 with a 1.231 slugging percentage in four games for the Trojans last week.
Child totaled two hits, a double and three RBI in a sweep of North Greenville on Thursday. She followed that with six hits – including a pair of homers and a double – and eight RBI on Sunday in a series sweep of Chowan.
The senior currently leads the SAC with 12 RBI, ranks fourth in batting average at .611 and fifth in slugging at 1.111.
SAC Softball Pitcher of the Week | Jamie Hrobak, Brevard
Hrobak didn't allow an earned run in 14 innings last week, finishing 2-0 with 21 strikeouts compared to only three walks.
She went the distance in two starts, going five innings on Friday in game one of Brevard's sweep of Johnson C. Smith, and then seven innings on Saturday in a 3-2 Tornado win over Lees-McRae. In total, the sophomore allowed only six hits in her three appearances.
Hrobak is one of six SAC pitchers who have yet to allow an earned run this season, and her 21 strikeouts rank second in the conference.
