Thirteen SAC Student-Athletes Named to D2CCA Softball All-Southeast Region Teams

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Thirteen student-athletes from South Atlantic Conference institutions have been named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region teams.

Highlighting the first team honorees are second baseman Ty-Kella Goins from Lincoln Memorial University, outfielder Erin Boone and pitcher Emily Kenley from Lenoir-Rhyne University, designated player Haley Simonds from Newberry College, and utility Lacie Rinus and utility-non pitcher Abby Fiessinger from Carson-Newman University.

In addition to the SAC's 13 honorees on two teams, the Peach Belt Conference had 10 selections and Conference Carolinas had five.

The first team selections will move on to the All-America ballot. The D2CCA All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.

The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the school's sports information directors. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
