ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the opening weekend of the 2020 season. Tusculum collected the player honor with Anna Alloway, while Catawba earned the pitching accolade with Madison Hunter.

A junior utility player, Alloway hit .700 to lead the Pioneers to sweeps over non-conference opponents Converse and Claflin. Overall the Louisville, Tenn. native went 7-for-10 at the plate with three doubles, a home run and seven walks. This is Alloway's first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Hunter, a junior pitcher, helped lead the Catawba Indians to a perfect 3-0 record this past weekend. All three wins came in relief appearances where she totaled seven innings, allowed no runs on just one hit, with three walks and 14 strikeouts. This is Hunter's first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
