The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the eighth weekend of the 2022 season Tusculum's Anna Alloway earns the Player honor while Anderson's Laken Maxwell earns the Pitcher of the Week honors.

A graduate student outfielder, Alloway, was an instrumental part in helping the Pioneers to a 4-0 record this past weekend. Overall, the Louisville, Tenn., native averaged a .692 batting average, going 9-for-13 from the plate with a 1.231 slugging percentage, 12 RBI's, two runs scored and one home run. This is Alloway's first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Maxwell, a sophomore pitcher, helped the Trojans improve to a 25-5 record on the season and 2-0 record on the week while playing 14 total innings. Overall, the Bowdon, Ga., native walked away with only five hits and one walk, while striking out 18. This is Maxwell's second Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
