Anderson Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the ninth weekend of the 2022 season Anderson's Kayson Boatner earns the Player honor while teammate Laken Maxwell earns the Pitcher of the Week honors.

A senior infielder, Boatner, was an instrumental part in helping the Trojans to a 4-0 record this past weekend. Overall, the Phenix City, Ala., native averaged a .769 batting average, going 10-for-13 from the plate with a 2.462 slugging percentage, 12 RBI's, nine runs scored and seven home runs. This is Boatner's second Player of the Week honor of the season.

Maxwell, a sophomore pitcher, helped the Trojans improve to a 31-5 record on the season and 4-0 record on the week while playing 12 total innings. Overall, the Bowdon, Ga., native walked away with only four hits and one walk, while striking out 18. This is Maxwell's third Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
