Wingate and LR Advance to Winners Bracket in Softball Regional
MONROE, N.C. -- Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate advanced to the winner's bracket with decisive victories in the First Round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Regional hosted by Wingate. Due to weather, these games were moved to neighboring Monroe, N.C. at Union Academy Charter School. Wingate won 5-0 on strong pitching from Hali Scott and LR advanced 10-2 with a pair of long balls.
The two programs will meet for the third time in less than two weeks.

Monroe, N.C.----Wingate University All-SAC and All-Region right-hander Hali Scott tossed a two-hitter Thursday afternoon and blasted a two-run homer, leading the top-seeded and seventh-ranked Bulldogs to a 5-0 victory over eighth-seeded Anderson University on day one of the NCAA Southeast Regional softball tournament. The Bulldogs improve to 47-9 overall, advancing to the winner's bracket game Friday at 10:30 a.m. The Trojans fall to 34-18 on the year and will play in an elimination game Friday at 1 p.m.
BEARS BEAT LANDER 10-2 TO OPEN REGIONALS | FULL RELEASE
Monroe, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team opened their 2024 NCAA Tournament with a 10-2 win over Lander as Kaylan Brown hit a RBI double in the 6th inning to end the game via the mercy rule. Julia Mardigian and Lora Beth Wood hit homeruns while Madison Wilson picked up another victory in the circle. The Bears will face Wingate for the 5th time this season Friday morning.
