Tusculum’s Ashli Oliver Named Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Ashli Oliver has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 26, it was announced today by the league office.
Oliver, a sophomore from Kokomo, Ind., helped the Pioneers remain undefeated with three wins last week. Oliver, a 5-10 guard and former standout at Taylor High School, tied a league record in a 91-74 win over North Greenville as she canned nine three-pointers. She totaled a career-high with 27 points, going 9-of-13 from long range, and added five rebounds.
The sophomore had nine points off a trio of three-pointers in a
77-72 win over West Virginia State, including one to tie the game
with two minutes left as Tusculum rallied from a 16-point deficit.
Oliver added four more three-pointers in scoring 18 points in a
68-42 victory over Davis & Elkins.
For the week, Oliver averaged 18 points and 3.7 rebounds, while hitting on 16-of-27 (59 percent) three-pointers. She also dished out four assists.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
