Mars Hill’s Brittini Young Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Mars Hill College's Brittini Young has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending February 21, 2010.

Young, a junior guard from Ramseur, N.C. (East Randolph HS), poured in a career-high 37 points in Mars Hill's 101-100 overtime road win over Wingate University. With the win, the Lions ended a nine-game losing streak to Wingate and a 12-game overall losing streak.

Young hit 11-of-19 shots from the field and 11-of-13 from the free throw line. She also knocked down four-of-six from beyond the arc, while collecting five steals and four assists.

Young leads the SAC in scoring at 21.6 points per game.
