The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Dec. 8
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jazmine Charles has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 1-7, the League announced today.
Charles, a senior from Lexington, N.C., averaged 24.5 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bears to a pair of wins last week. She got her week started with 30 points on 62.5 percent from the floor to go along with seven rebounds and two steals in the win over previously unbeaten North Georgia on Dec. 2. In the victory over Brevard on Dec. 7, Charles accounted for 19 points and 13 rebounds including five offensive boards. The honor is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Sierra Simpson (Anderson), Chelsea Turner (Brevard), Kaitlyn Cupples (Carson-Newman), Kortnay Cox (Lincoln Memorial), McKell Oliverio (Queens), and Andrea Bertrand (Wingate).
