The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Dec. 22

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard Bri Johnson has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 15-21, the League announced today.

Johnson, a sophomore from Statesville, N.C., poured in 23 points to lead the Catawba Indians to an 84-74 win over League foe Tusculum on Dec. 15.  She connected on 62 percent of her shots from the floor and was 7-of-8 at the line.  She also chipped in three rebounds and came away with three steals and a block.  The honor is her first Player of the Week selection this season.

Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Madison Lenox (Brevard), Tanesha Stenson (Coker), Maggie Stewart (Queens) and Andrea Bertrand  (Wingate).
