The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 16

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson guard Sierra Simpson has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 9-15, the League announced today.

Simpson, a senior from Simpsonville, S.C., put in 16.5 points per game to lead the Trojans to a pair of South Atlantic Conference road wins last week.  Against Mars Hill on Feb. 11, she scored 14 points, to go along with nine assists, four rebounds and a pair of steals.  Three days later against Catawba, Simpson notched 19 points and chipped in seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.  The win on the road at Catawba marked Anderson's first win in Salisbury, N.C. since joining the League in 2010.  The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
