The South Atlantic Conference Reprimands Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Department

ROCK HILL, S.C. (www.TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference office today issued a public reprimand of Carson-Newman University's Department of Athletic Communications for violating the South Atlantic Conference's policy that prohibits making public comments about officials.

 

Specifically, following the school's women's basketball game on February 3 vs. Mars Hill University, a member or members of the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications staff posted critical comments and an inappropriate picture about the officials on a social media website. Further, the postgame story that was placed on the school's website and submitted to media outlets contained unprofessional and disrespectful comments about the officials.

 

The South Atlantic Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.
