No. 3 Wingate Advances to SAC Women's Hoops Championship with 61-54 Win Over No. 2 Newberry

GREENVILLE, S.C. - No. 3 Wingate's Marta Miscenko scored 24 points to lead the the Bulldogs to a 61-54 win over No. 2 Newberry in the semifinals of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.  With the win, the Bulldogs will take on top-seeded Anderson in the finals at 1:00pm on Sunday, March 6.

Miscenko scored 22 points in the second half as teammate Danasia Witherspoon chipped in 16 points for the Bulldogs.

For Newberry Samantha Creed and Nicola Handreck led the Wolves with 15 points each.

Wingate improves to 20-8 on year, while Newberry closed out the regular season and SAC tournament at 17-12.
