The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Jan. 3

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate center Marta Miscenko has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 19-Jan. 1, the League announced today.

Miscenko, a junior from Riga, Latvia, averaged a double-double last week as she finished with 19.5 points and 10 rebounds per game to lead her squad to a pair of wins.  She got her week started with 22 points on 67 percent shooting to go along with 12 boards, seven blocks, one steal and one assist in the Bulldogs' 71-56 win over Chowan on Dec. 29.  The double-double against Chowan marked her sixth double-double of the season.  Three days later against regional power USC Aiken, Miscenko poured in 17 points and posted eight rebounds, one steal and one block in the 67-54 win over the Pacers.  The award is her first Player of the Week selection this season.
