Four South Atlantic Conference Schools Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Poll
The South Atlantic Conference had four teams that were ranked in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Women’s Basketball Poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 28). Carson-Newman was No. 1 for the third week in a row, followed by Wingate at No. 2, Anderson moved up to No. 7 and Lincoln Memorial moved into the No. 10 spot.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four teams that were ranked in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 28). Carson-Newman was No. 1 for the third week in a row, followed by Wingate at No. 2, Anderson moved up to No. 7 and Lincoln Memorial moved into the No. 10 spot.
Carson-Newman is currently ranked No. 7 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll with an overall record of 26-2.
Wingate has an overall record of 23-4 and is ranked No. 21 in the WBCA poll. Anderson has a record of 19-9 overall and Lincoln Memorial enters the ranking with a 16-10 overall record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
