Lincoln Memorial's Griffith Named AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Dec. 10 through Dec. 16. Lincoln Memorial's Emily Griffith garnered the Player of the Week honor.

A senior guard, Griffith led the Railsplitters for the week in their two contests, upping her career high in scoring on each occasion. Lincoln Memorial went 2-0, with a 24-point win over Tennessee Wesleyan and an eight-point conference victory over #20 Wingate. The Oliver Springs, Tenn. native averaged 22.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists, and two steals. Griffith shot for a high percentage as well, 60 percent from the field, 75 percent from three-point range, and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. This is Griffith's first Player of the Week honor of the season.
