Anderson's Easter Named USBWA Division II Women's Basketball National Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) announced its weekly awards on Tuesday (Jan. 29). Anderson's Ace Easter garnered the Division II National Player of the Week honor to go along with her SAC Co-Player of the Week.
A redshirt senior guard, Easter broke the SAC women's single-game scoring record with a 47-point performance on 13-of-15 shooting in the route of Mars Hill. The Maiden, N.C. native knocked down 13 three-pointers, also a SAC single-game record, while her nine consecutive three-point field goals made tied the NCAA record. Easter followed up the record-breaking performance with a 17-point outing versus Queens, going 50 percent from the field. On the week, Easter averaged 32 points, with 17 made three-pointers, 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, and added 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
