WISE - - Forward Kalee Johnson scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds as UVA Wise grabbed a 85-63 win over Queens in the opening round of the 2021 Pilot Flying J South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Championship.
Wolves Win Thriller Over Wingate, 70-69
NEWBERRY, S.C. - In a wild game with 15 lead changes, a back-and-forth affair between the Newberry Wolves and the Bulldogs of Wingate University ended up with the Wolves coming out on top by a final score of 70-69 in the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. Newberry's record moves to 10-9 with the victory.
Lady Railsplitters Defeat Coker 80-66 In First Postseason Home Victory Since 2018
HARROGATE, Tenn. - In a back and forth battle inside B. Frank 'Tex" Turner Arena, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (9-10) defeated Coker 80-66 for their first postseason home victory since Feb. 28, 2018. With the win, the Lady Railsplitters advance to the quarterfinals of the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Championships and will take on the number one seed Carson-Newman Monday evening.
Limestone Overcomes Slow Start to Collect Playoff Win over Bears
GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone University women's basketball team overcame a slow offensive start and halftime deficit with a strong second half to pick up the Athletic Department's first ever tournament win as South Atlantic Conference members with a 63-49 first-round victory over Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Spurlin Spurs Trojans To SAC Championship Opening Round Win Over Mars Hill; 64-56
Anderson, S.C. — Anderson University sophomore Jalyn Spurlin came off the bench to spark the Trojans and help lift Anderson to a, 64-56, win over the No. 12 seeded Marsh Hill Lions on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference Flying J Championship opening round at the Abney Athletic Center. The Trojans improve to 13-10 overall, while the Lions finish the season 2-18 overall.
In addtion, Tusculum, Catawba and Carson-Newman recieved an opening round bye and are set to play in the SAC Pilot Flying J Quarterfinals on Monday March 1.
