Lincoln Memorial's Smiddy Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Lincoln Memorial guard Alexa Smiddy has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week six of the 2022-23 season, the Conference announced today. 

Smiddy, a freshman from Somerset, Ky., scored 38 points in Saturday's 75-61 win over Limestone for the fourth-most points in a single game in Lincoln Memorial women's basketball program history. She averaged 25 points on 51.6 percent shooting and 4.5 assists per game in wins over the Saints (75-61) and Southern Wesleyan (92-67) on the week.
