Carson-Newman's Wykle Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Carson-Newman guard Braelyn Wykle has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week nine of the 2022-23 season, the Conference announced today. 

Wykle, a junior from Greeneville, Tenn., recorded career highs in points (39) and field goals made (15) in the double overtime thriller against Tusculum on Wednesday. She shot 53.6 percent from the field, going 15-for-28, and knocked down five three-pointers. In Saturday's win over Newberry, Wykle produced a third straight 20-point outing, finishing with a game-high 20 points in 33 minutes. She averaged 29.5 points, 5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block across the two games.
