Four South Atlantic Conference Schools Ranked In NCAA Southeast Region Women’s Basketball Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the first NCAA Southeast Region Women’s Basketball poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 15). Carson-Newman, Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate are all under consideration for this year’s NCAA Southeast Region Championship.
In addition to the four SAC schools ranked in this week’s poll, there is one Conference Carolinas school under consideration and five Peach Belt schools.
The ten teams currently under consideration were not put in any rank order at this time. The teams will not be put in rank order until next week’s ranking
Carson-Newman has a 15-9 record, Catawba has a 21-4 record, Lenoir-Rhyne has a 20-5 record, and Wingate has a 18-6 record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
