Five South Atlantic Conference Schools Ranked In NCAA Southeast Region Women’s Basketball Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) - The South Atlantic Conference had five schools ranked in the first NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball poll released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 22). Catawba is No. 1 in the ranking, followed by Wingate at No. 2, Lenoir-Rhyne at No. 4, Carson-Newman at No. 6, and Tusculum at No. 9.
In addition to the five SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there are four Peach Belt schools and one Conference Carolina school.
Catawba has an overall record of 22-4, Wingate 19-6, Lenoir-Rhyne 21-5, Carson-Newman 15-10, and Tusculum 17-6.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
