Bears Knock Off Top-Seed Catawba to Reach Title Game
Greenville, S.C.-- For the first time since 2014, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team will be heading to the SAC title game as the Bears took out the No. 1 seed Catawba 68-63 on Saturday afternoon. Emily Harman led the Bears with 17 points while Hannah Stull added 14 points and seven rebounds. LR will face Anderson Sunday at 1:00 PM as the Bears are looking for their third SAC title in program history.
Balanced Scoring and Solid Defense Propels Trojans Into The South Atlantic Conference Finals
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball (18-12) used balanced scoring and a solid defensive effort to oust No. 2 seed Wingate (22-7) from the South Atlantic Conference Tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena. For the game, Stafford and Spurlin shared team-high honors scoring 19 points apiece. Sophomore Diamond McDowell netted 18 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to record her 14th double-double of the season. McDowell was also credited with four assists and two blocked shots. Senior Britney Bailey owned the glass, ripping down 12 rebounds and chipping in 12 points to record her ninth double-double of the season. Wilson and freshman Ashlyn Sheridan each contributed eight points and pulling down seven and five rebounds, respectively.
The SAC Women's Basketball Championship game will take place tomorrow (March 5) at 1 p.m. at the Timmons Arena in Greenville, S.C.
