Tusculum 7th, Newberry 8th at NCAA Women’s Golf Regional

PACE, Fla. - After two rounds of play at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Southeast Region Championship at Stonebrook Golf Club, Tusculum is in seventh and Newberry in eighth heading into Tuesday's final round.
After finishing Sunday's opening round in sixth place, Tusculum fell back one spot after shooting a team total of 314 on Monday. The Pioneers got a solid round of 76 from Jillian Collins.
TC's Emee Herbert shot a six-over 78 in round two, and is currently tied with Newberry's Maria Luz Besio for the Championship's 12th-lowest individual score of eight-over 152.
Newberry fired a 309 - eight shots better than on Sunday - but remained in eighth-place after the second round. In addition to Besio's solid play, the Wolves' Barbara Castro shot a three-over and Lisa Brandl carded a round of five-over on Monday.
Florida Southern remains atop the team leaderboard.
