LAKELAND, Fla. – The first round of the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship South Regional was completed on Sunday, with Newberry finishing the day No. 8 in the team standings and Tusculum's Emee Herbert at No. 42 on the individual leaderboard.
Second-round tee times begin at 8:20 on Monday morning.
Newberry shot a 32-over 320 as a team, led by a 76 from Lisa Brandl, which tied for the 10th-best individual score. Brandl recorded three birdies in her round.
Newberry's Eline Askeland is tied for 28th, Julia Daneshfar is 36th, Barbaro Castro is 40th and Korey Coleman is in 49th in the individual standings after Sunday.
Herbert, who qualified for the tournament as an individual, shot an 84 on Sunday, tying West Florida's Aimee Paterson for 42nd on the leaderboard.
Defending national champion Nova Southeastern leads the team standings after a first-round 298, while Armstrong's Kristen Sammarco shot a two-under 70 for the individual lead.
