The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week, Feb. 8
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Kelsey Crow was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Rachel Del Duca was named the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played the opening week of the season, the League announced today.
Crow, a senior from Franklin, Tenn. scored five goals and dished out two assists to lead the Pioneers to a 19-3 win over Erskine on Feb. 6. The attacker notched four goals and one helper in the first half to lead Tusculum to an 11-1 halftime lead. She found the back of the net on five of her six shot attempts as she also chipped in five ground balls, two draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. The award is her first Offensive Player of the Week selection this season.
Del Duca, a sophomore from New Providence, N.J., caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls in the win for the Pioneers. She helped the Pioneer defense hold the Flying Fleet to just 14 shots, while causing 24 turnovers. Del Duca also posted one draw control in the win. The award is her first Defensive Player of the Week nod this season.
