The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2016 SAC Women's Lacrosse Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens won its third-straight South Atlantic Conference Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2016 Title. With the crown, the Royals have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Queens finished the season with an 8-0 League record.
Lenoir Rhyne claimed the No. 2 seed as it finished the Conference season at 7-1. Wingate earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament as it posted a 6-2 record in South Atlantic Conference play. Tusculum, Brevard and Catawba finished tied for No. 4 in the League with identical 4-4 records. Via the South Atlantic Conference's tiebreaker procedure, Tusculum picked up the No. 4 seed and Brevard College garnered the No. 5 seed. Catawba rounded out the seeds at No. 6.
Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne each earned a bye to semifinals. The quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, April 26 at campus sites with the semifinals and finals taking place at Queens on April 29 and 30. The tournament schedule is listed below:
