The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the third weekend of the 2020 season. Wingate garnered offensive honors with Kendall Wells while UVa-Wise took the defensive honors with Jordan Edwards.

A senior attacker, Wells helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record this past weekend against North Greenville and Belmont Abbey, respectively. Overall she pulled together 16 points with 14 goals and two assists. She also became the school's all-time leader in career goals and points. This is Wells first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Edwards, a freshman goalie, helped the Cavaliers defensively with seven saves in a 16-11 win over North Greenville this past weekend. The Haymarket, VA. native split time between the posts making her seven saves in the second half. This is Edwards first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
