The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors
THE SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES ASTROTURF WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK HONORS
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the eighth weekend of the 2022 season. Wingate's Leah Knowles took the offensive honor and Catawba's Aryn Dorr took the defensive honor.
Knowles, a Junior Midfielder, from Hickory NC., helped the bulldogs to an 2-0 record on the eighth week, totaling seven points, five goals, two assists, three turnovers, three caused turn overs, 12 draw controls and three ground balls in their 20-11 win over UVA-Wise. She went on to dish out four points on four goals, two ground balls, two turnovers, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers leading them to a 21-2 win against Mars Hill. This is Knowles' first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Dorr, a Senior Goalkeeper from Chesapeake Beach, MD., helped the Catawba Indians secure a 12-6 win against UVA-Wise this past week. She played 55 minutes between the posts with 20 saves for a 80.0 save percentage. This is Dorr's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
