Lincoln Memorial's Van Der Ziel and Limestone's Eaton Earn South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Varsity Gems Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the sixth week of the 2023 season. Lincoln Memorial's Ali Van Der Ziel was named the offensive player of the week and Limestone's Kyleigh Eaton was named the defensive player of the week.  

Van Der Ziel, a senior attacker from Allen, Texas, was a key player in Lincoln Memorial's win over McKendree on Sunday. She put up 10 points on five goals and five assists to lead the Railsplitters to a 12-11 victory. 

Eaton, a sophomore goalkeeper from Columbia, Md., led the Saints to a pair of wins over the week as she tallied 25 total saves, including a career-high 15 in the 15-8 win over Anderson on Saturday. She finished the week with 7.0 goals against average and had a save percentage of 64.1%.
