Limestone, Wingate and Anderson Ranked in ILWomen/ IWLCA Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. (thesac.com) - Three SAC programs were ranked among the ILWomen/ IWLCA Division II Poll, released Monday (April 8). 

Limestone continues to climb the rankings, as they move up two places from last week to No. 11. The Saints remain just one of four unbeaten teams in the top 25 ranks (14-0), joined by No. 1 Pace (10-0), No. 2 West Chester (10-0) and No. 6 Maryville (12-0). 

Wingate slid to No. 19 after splitting the week with two tight games as they defeated No. 25 Mount Olive 13-12 and fell to Anderson 15-16. The Bulldogs are 11-4 overall and 8-1 in conference play.

For the first time in program history, Anderson enters the poll after receiving votes the previous week. The No. 24 Trojans recorded back-to-back wins on the week as they defeated Virginia State and upset then-ranked No. 16 Wingate, marking their first-ever victory over a ranked opponent. Anderson improves to 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the SAC.
