Tusculum’s Courtney Hambel named Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Courtney Hambel has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, announced league officials Tuesday.
Hambel, a 5-9 junior forward from Melbourne, Fla., recorded two goals, including the match-winner in Tusculum's 3-2 road win at No. 3 Carson-Newman College last Wednesday.
Hambel, a Melbourne Catholic High School graduate, is currently third on the team in goals scored (5) and points (10).
The Pioneers (8-0-2, 3-0-1 SAC) return to action on Saturday when they host Lenoir-Rhyne College for a 5 p.m. conference tilt at the TC Upper Soccer Field.
The SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
