Catawba’s Leigh Telzrow named Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Catawba's Leigh Telzrow has been named the South Atlantic Conference's Player of the Week after guiding the 13th-ranked Indians to a pair of victories last week.
Telzrow, a 5-7 senior defender from Dallas, Texas, led a Catawba
defense that posted a pair of 1-0 shutouts against Barton and Mount
Olive and allowed just 12 shots in two games. She was named to the
Sleep Inn Classic All-Tournament team and had assist on the
game-winning goal in win over Barton. Telzrow has participated in
36 shutouts over her 59 career matches at Catawba.
The Indians host Limestone College on Wednesday, September 6 before traveling to Clayton State on Sunday, September 10.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the eight sports information directors of the league.
