ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial University's Heloisa de Oliveira has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today. This is the second time Olveira has won the award.
Oliveira, a 5-8 senior forward from Campinas, Brazil (Campinas High School) continued her assault of the Lincoln Memorial University record books, adding five goals to her career total to tally 21 for the season. She scored two goals against Presbyterian College in LMU's 3-2 win and then added three goals and an assist in the Railsplitter's 10-0 rout over Milligan College.
Currently, Oliveira is ranked second in the country in goals per
game (3.90) and in points per game (1.600), and is tied for 14th
place in assists per game (0.70) as of October 7, 2007.
In addition, wins over Presbyterian and Milligan last week move the
Lady Railsplitter's win streak to seven consecutive wins as LMU
gets prepared to take on arch-rivals Carson-Newman this Wednesday
and Catawba College on Saturday.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
