LMU’s Becky Thompson Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Lincoln Memorial University's Becky Thompson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today. This is the first time Thompson has won the award.

Thompson, a freshman forward from Frederick, MD, led the Lady Railsplitters to wins against Mar Hill College (2-1) last week and Wingate University (3-2) which helped the LMU women win the 2007 South Atlantic Conference regular season title and secure the number one seed in this year's SAC tournament.

In addition, Thompson scored the game-winning-goals in both matches, including both goals in LMU's 2-1 win over Mars Hill College.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
