Women’s Soccer All-Tournament Team Announced
LMU?s Patty Spielman named tournament MVP
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Lincoln Memorial University's Patty Spielman, who helped lead the Lady Railsplitters to the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Championship, has been named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Spielman, a senior midfielder, played a key role for the Lady Railsplitters during the tournament.
Joining Spielman on the All-Tournament team from Lincoln Memorial are senior Heloisa de Oliveira, the conference Player of the Year, senior midfielder Juliana Povoa and defender Lea Cataggio.
Oliveira scored two goals in a quarterfinal win over Wingate.
Making the All-Tournament team from runner-up Catawba are goalkeeper Kathleen Blake, midfielder Lindsay Hinkle and defender Carrie Wollaston. Blake gave up one goal in three tournament matches.
Lenoir-Rhyne and Tusculum each played two players on the All-Tournament Team. Gaolkeeper Nicole Ley and defender Amber Holt made the team from Lenoir-Rhyne, while goalkeeper Tori Hadjopoulos and forward Danielle Tanner made the team from Tusculum College.
