Lenoir-Rhyne’s Linehan Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Lenoir-Rhyne University's Laura Linehan was named the SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today.

Linehan, a 5-6, freshman midfielder from San Diego, Calif., continues to impress as she scored six goals and tallied one assist in her second week of collegiate play, helping the Bears to a 3-0 week. Linehan scored a hat trick in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over Limestone and added two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over King (Tenn.) on Saturday before finishing with one goal and one assist against Barton on Monday (a 3-0 win at home).

Linehan leads the Bears in goals (seven), assists (three) and points (17) so far in 2008. L-R is also 4-0 on the year for the first time in six years.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
