Tusculum’s Danielle Tanner Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College forward Danielle Tanner has been named South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by league officials on Tuesday.
The 5-7 forward scored two of Tusculum's three goals last week, finding the back of the net in each of TC's matches against no. 7 Columbus State and Armstrong Atlantic. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Tanner took a team-high nine shots last week, putting all nine on frame.
Tanner currently leads the black and orange in goals (5), points
(11), shots (21), and shots on goal (18). With her five goals this
season, the senior attacker also moves into a tie for fourth in
program history with 26 career goals in 25 matches.
Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday evening in the first match of a men's and women's doubleheader, squaring off against Southern Virginia University. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
