Lenoir-Rhyne’s Laura Linehan Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Laura Linehan was named the SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today. This is the second time this season Linehan has earned the award.

Linehan, a 5-6, freshman midfielder from San Diego, Calif. (University City HS), tallied three of the Bears' four goals last week including the match-winner on Saturday evening in a come-from-behind victory against Newberry College. Linehan leads Lenoir-Rhyne in goals scored with 13 and assists with five for a total of 31 points. L-R has reached the 10-win (10-4-2) mark for the first time since 2003. Last week the Bears tied Clayton State, 1-1 (2 OT) and then defeated Newberry, 3-1.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
