L-R’s Hauck Named NSCAA All-American, SAC Lands Nine on All-Region Team
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released its postseason award winners for women's soccer, with Lenoir-Rhyne senior Catherine Hauck being named to the All-America Second Team.
KANSAS CITY - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released its postseason award winners for women's soccer, with Lenoir-Rhyne senior Catherine Hauck being named to the All-America Second Team.
Hauck was also a member of the NSCAA All-Southeast Region First Team, joining eight other SAC student-athletes earning All-Region accolades.
Hauck, the 2011 SAC Player of the Year, led Lenoir-Rhyne to a regular-season conference title and a run to the NCAA Championship regional semifinals, and was also named a 2011 All-American and Southeast Region Player of the Year by Daktronics.
Joining Hauck on the NSCAA All-Southeast Region First Team is teammate Carley Griffin, a junior from Fresno, Calif. Griffin scored 11 goals for L-R in 2011 en route to earning first team All-SAC honors.
The SAC placed three on the All-Region Second Team in Lenoir-Rhyne's Laura Linehan, Lincoln Memorial's Leanne Reid and Tusculum's Tramicka James. All three student-athletes were first team All-SAC selections.
Four more SAC players earned third team All-Region accolades in Tusculum's Marissa Williams, Lenoir-Rhyne's Kaelia Frazier, Newberry's Cassie Smith and Carson-Newman's Trenna Howell.
Howell was a member of the All-SAC First Team, while Frazier and Smith were selected to the All-Conference Second Team.
Williams, meanwhile, was one of just two freshmen to be named to be named NSCAA All-Southeast Region.
