The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 28

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson forward Idoia Agirre has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 21-27, the League announced today.

Agirre, a junior from Legazpi, Spain posted two goals and recorded an assist, accumulating five points and helped the Trojans to a 2-0 record on the week in SAC play. In Anderson's 2-0 victory against Brevard on Sept. 23, Agirre scored both goals and finished the game with a perfect shot percentage. Two days later against Tusculum, she provided the assist on the double-overtime game-winning goal from teammate Emily Cowan to push Anderson to a 2-1 win. Anderson's victory over Tusculum marked their first win over the Pioneers since 2011. Agirre continues to lead the SAC in goals (12), assists (5), points (29), and shots (45). The award marks her second Player of the Week plaudit this season.
