The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2015 SAC Women's Soccer Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman captured its first Regular Season championship since 2010 as it claimed the 2015 Title. With the crown, the Eagles have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Carson-Newman finished the season with a 10-1 League mark for 30 points.
Wingate, the defending tournament champions, claimed the No. 2 seed in the tournament as it finished the Conference season at 8-1-2 for 26 points. Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne finished with identical 8-2-1 records and 21 points. The Royals defeated the Bears during the regular season to break the tie and earn the No. 3 seed. At No. 5 in the seeds is Anderson, who posted an 8-3 record and 24 points. Tusculum's 5-4-2 record and 17 points was good for No. 6, whileNewberry came in at No. 7 with a 4-7 record and 12 points. Lincoln Memorial finished up the seeds at No. 8 as it finished its SAC schedule with a 3-6-2 record and 11 points.
The 2015 South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 3 before moving to Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 6 and 8. The South Atlantic Conference's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA women's Soccer Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
