The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 6

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –. Anderson Forward Aliana Gay has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Aug. 29 – Sept. 4, the League announced today.

 

Gay, a senior from Aiken, S.C. tallied three goals and two assists leading Anderson to a 2-0 record to start the 2016 campaign. Gay didn't wait long to get Anderson's season underway as she scored in the eighth minute of the Trojans home opener and was also responsible for the game winning goal later that night against rival Erskine. Gay also played a pivotal role in Anderson's 5-0 win against Southern Wesleyan on September 3rd scoring one goal and one assist. On the season, Gay has totaled seven shots with five of those shots coming on goal. This award is her first Player of the Week honor this season.
