The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 19

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman Forward Lauren Wade has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sep. 12 – Sept. 18, the League announced today.

Wade, a junior from Coleraine, Northern Ireland, helped lead Carson-Newman to a 2-0 record on the week with wins on the road against USC Aiken and conference foe Newberry. Wade recorded an NCAA record during the game against USC Aiken as she scored five goals. This is the most scored in a single game by a single player in Division I and Division II to date. The feat ties a Division III record, as it has been accomplished twice before. The five goals and 12 points also rank second in Carson-Newman history. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.
