The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Players of the Week, Oct. 3
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba forward Becky Frost and Lenoir-Rhyne goalkeeper Andrea Leano have been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Co-Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sep. 26 – Oct. 2, the League announced today.
Frost, a junior Crofton, MD, led Catawba to wins over Pheiffer and Brevard this week and extended the Indians' win streak to six games. Frost scored the opening goal in the ninth minute in a 3-2 win over Pheiffer on September 29th. Frost was also kicked in both goals scored against Brevard in the 2-0 win on October 1. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.
Leano, a senior from San Diego, CA, helped Lenoir-Rhyne to back to back shutout victories over South Atlantic Conference foes Queens and No. 14 Carson-Newman. Leano totaled six saves in the win against Carson-Newman on September 28. Leano has a 0.97goals-against average with 33 saves on the year. The award is her second Player of the Week plaudit of the season.
