The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during Oct. 2 through Oct. 8. Lincoln Memorial's Itzel Ballesteros garnered the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Tusculum's Bailey Bosler was named Defensive Player of the Week.

A junior forward, Ballesteros led the Railsplitters offensively with three goals and an assist for the week. The Los Angeles, Calif. Native netted a pair of goals and an assist in the 5-0 defeat of Mars Hill and scored the golden goal in the 1-0 double overtime victory over Wingate. This was Lincoln Memorial's first win over the Bulldogs in 11 years. This is Ballesteros's first Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Bosler, a native of Waterloo, Ill., had six saves in the Pioneers' 2-1 upset of No. 12 Carson-Newman. The freshman goalkeeper made three saves in each half to snap the Eagles' 18-match conference regular-season win streak and 17-match home conference win streak as well. This is Bosler's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
