Two South Atlantic Conference Teams Present in NCAA Division II Women's Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The NCAA announced its first week of Division II women's soccer regional rankings on Wednesday (Oct. 17), with two teams representing the SAC in the southeast.
Leading the SAC teams is nationally-ranked Carson-Newman at No. 6 in the region. The Eagles blanked Queens 2-0 in their lone match of the week. Newly-minted SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week, forward Magda Mosengo, netted both goals in the contest.
At No. 8 is Catawba. In their 2-0 week, the Catawba Indians shutout two SAC opponents in Mars Hill and Coker, while totaling six goals in the process. Current SAC AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week, goalkeeper Shelby Thompson, collected five saves in the action.
On Wednesday, October 17, No. 20 Carson-Newman will host Mars Hill and Catawba will travel Lenoir-Rhyne.
