The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during Oct. 23 through Oct. 28. Wingate's Kimmi Moore garnered the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Lincoln Memorial's Ann-Marie O'Connell was named Defensive Player of the Week.

A senior midfielder, Brown led the Bulldogs to solid 7-0 conference win over Coker. The Hubert, N.C. native needed only 46 minutes to register the first hat trick of her career, while adding an assist for good measure. This is Moore's first Offensive Player of the Week honor in 2018.

O'Connell, a native of Victorville, Calif., had two conference shutouts at Queens and Newberry on the week. The junior goalkeeper, in 180 minutes in goal, gathered five saves to help the Railsplitters earn a second seed in the SAC tournament, the team's highest since 2007. This is O'Connell's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
